Since October 2009 PhD student with scholarship within the PhD School “Riccardo Francovich: Storia e Archeologia del Medioevo, Istituzioni e Archivi” (XXV cycle), at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Siena - Department of Archaeology and Art History: “The reuse of rural settlements in the Roman period in Italy between Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages” (thesis advisor Prof. Marco Valenti, tutor Prof. Alexandra Chavarria Arnau)
Degrees
2009 Degree in Archaeology at the University of Siena, thesis in Medieval Archaeology: “The transformations of the Roman villas between Late Antiquity and Middle Ages: the case of central and southern Italy” (thesis advisor Prof. Marco Valenti, examiner Dott. Vittorio Fronza), final grade 110/110 cum laude.
2007 Bachelor degree in Archaeology at the University of Siena, thesis in History of late ancient and medieval settlements: “The excavation at Rocca di Staggia Senese: computerization of data and a preliminary description of the stratigraphic sequence” (rapporteur thesis Prof. Marco Valenti), final grade 110/110 cum laude.
Research Interests
Study of Late Antique Roman villas.
Analysis of transformation, reoccupation and reuse of Roman rural settlements between Late Antiquity and Middle Ages.
