1. STUDIES
1989: graduated in archaeology with honours, referee Prof. R. Francovich
1992: winner of an Erasmus scholarship for the University of Freiburg (Germany
1995: PhD in archaeology
1997/1999: winner of a research scholarship at the University of Siena
2004: Reader in Medieval Archaeology at the University of Siena

2. TEACHING ACTIVITIES
1993-94/1999-2000: teacher and tutor in several courses for not-graduated students in Tuscany and Umbria
1999/2005: teacher at the University of Siena (methodology and medieval archaeology)
2004/2010: teacher at the University of Siena-section of Grosseto (medieval archaeology)
Referee of several degree dissertations at the University of Siena and Florence. Visiting professor at the university of Frankfurt am Main (November 2009)

3. RESEARCH PROJECTS
1983/1996: participation at 17 excavations of medieval settlements in Tuscany and Lombardy
1997/2005: participation at several projects of archaeological parks, museums and exhibitions under the scientific direction of R. Francovich.
Supervisor of the research unit under the scientific direction of R. Francovich and from 2007-2011 director of the excavations at Rocca Silvana (Castell'azzara - GR), Castel di Pietra (Gavorrano - GR), Grosseto-urban arcaheology, Sassoforte (Roccastrada - GR), S. Guglielmo di Malavalle (Castiglione della Pescaia - GR), Poggio Cavolo (GR).
Speaker at 36 national and international conferences in Italy and Europe.
